Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh Trustee with LIFE.  Dr. Singh provides his input in all the scientific research activities undertaken within the organisation.

He is a post-graduate in Environmental Sciences and has pursued Ph.D. at the Wildlife Institute of India. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Safety Management.  He was also associated with many reputed national organizations like Central Institute for Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR), IIT-BHU and IIT-ISM for various research work on environmental issues.

Since 2001 he is actively involved in a capacity-building programme for forest personnel on wildlife crime prevention and habitat monitoring. Over the period, he has conducted training programmes in more than 200 protected areas and trained almost 30,000 forest officials in India. 

He was a member of various statuary bodies such as the State Expert Appraisal Committee, Bihar; State Board for Wild Life (SBWL), Bihar, and State Biodiversity Board, Jharkhand. He was also part of various enquiry committees constituted by the MoEF&CC and NTCA.  Presently he is a member of the State Board for Wild Life (SBWL), UT of Ladakh.
