The Position offers the opportunity to work for the protection from Pollution at National, state and Local levels. The major thrust of work will be on environmental/ecological issues especially due to mining, thermal power plants, mega industries and other human activities.
Location: New Delhi, Kolkata

Eligibility:

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline of science or Bachelor degree in Engineering.
  • Sound understanding of different aspects of environment and ecological issues.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience on data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge on monitoring and measurement techniques and efficiency of pollution control device/s.
  • Proven research, good Communication and writing skill.
  • Knowledge on working of dispersal model related to air, water pollution will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge and research experience in mapping tools like ARC GIS/Q-GIS would be a plus.

Responsibilities Include Research:

  • Collect primary and secondary data and carry out analysis.
  • Preparation of documents for dissemination.
  • Ability to create visualization based on data on different air-pollution events.
  • Develop city/region/state/country-level emission inventory.
  • Assist the team in working on multi-disciplinary projects, proposal writing, report writing and project development.
  • Conduct field surveys (questionnaire designing, coordinating with field staffs)

Experience:

Minimum 3-4 years research experience in relevant subject

  • Candidates must have at least 2 years of post-qualification (LLB) experience either in litigation or environmental law research.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in the field of environmentatl law. Only those candidates who have a genuine desire and drive to protect the environment and rights of communities should apply.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel. Candidates must have excellent research, writing and communication skills.
    (Fresh law graduates are requested not to apply).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Legal research and preparing briefs and case notes.
  • Coordination with clients.
  • Appearances and drafting original pleadings, appeals, applications, writ petitions, etc., before National Green Tribunal, High Court and Supreme Court.
  • Field visit and travel to sites.
  • Administrative work related to the cases.
